In case you missed it, Governor Tony Evers announced that he will be investing $14 million from the American Rescue Plan toward youth mental health services and filling jobs in behavioral healthcare. Gov. Evers’ investment will help fund a youth mental healthcare walk-in clinic and a pediatric psychology residency program at Children’s Wisconsin.
Gov. Evers also directed funds to UW-Whitewater, which will be used to hire and train mental health professionals and expand the university’s behavioral healthcare programs.
Gov. Evers is committed to helping Wisconsinites access quality, affordable mental healthcare. This past April, Gov. Evers stood with students, teachers, parents, and mental health professionals at schools across Wisconsin and launched his “Get Kids Ahead” initiative to expand access to mental health resources to every school district in Wisconsin.
